Information, Advice & Guidance (IAG)
Our experienced team provides free, confidential Information, Advice & Guidance in multiple community languages to individuals and families in areas such as:
- Welfare benefits.
- Debt and housing.
- Consumer rights and family matters.
- Tackling food, fuel, hygiene, and prescription poverty.
Advice is available Monday to Friday, by appointment via phone or face-to-face.
We also produce multilingual information leaflets and act as a vital bridge between the community and statutory services.
Wellbeing Projects
We run dedicated wellbeing initiatives to support isolated and vulnerable individuals, especially older adults. Services include:
- Responding to issues of elder abuse.
- Befriending and regular check-ins.
- Outreach for housebound elders.
- Emotional and practical support with cultural sensitivity.
Support for Women
We provide safe, confidential support for women facing domestic abuse, conflict, or personal challenges. Services include:
- Culturally sensitive counselling and advocacy.
- Help to access safety, services, and empowerment.
- Specialist guidance for those in crisis or transition.
Men’s Support Group
We offer a welcoming, neutral space where men from the community can speak openly about the challenges they face. This initiative aims to:
- Normalise conversations around mental health and wellbeing.
- Provide peer support and shared learning.
- Reduce isolation and improve confidence.
- Connect men to professional advice when needed.
Young People
We work with young people to give them opportunities that can enhance their life experiences, skills, and knowledge. This involves family activities, volunteering with BARC, and holiday activities.
Personal Development
We also help increase soft skills and core knowledge around language, debt, finance, and confidence to empower people to lead independent lives.
This involves conversational ESOL, health information workshops, cooking workshops, leadership activities, volunteering, work experience, and financial literacy sessions.
