Golden Age Warm Hub project is for BME elders aged 65+ from Aston, Lozells, Handsworth, Winson Green and Nechells.
Starting Monday 09/01/2023 Birmingham Asian Resource Centre is running a warm Hub for
Elders 65+:
MONDAY WOMEN ONLY 10 AM to 2PM
TUESDAY MEN ONLY 10 AM to 2PM
Breakfast and Lunch provided:
Session are delivered from St Silas Church, 80 Lozells Road, Lozells, Birmingham, B19 2TD
This project is in direct response to the national crisis of increase in cost of Living affecting the most vulnerable members of our community.
Free activities such as Yoga, arts and crafts, games, also access to free welfare, housing, debt advice, and budgeting workshops. Advisors on hand to listen and support with the impact of cost of living for older people struggling to pay for food, heating, light their home, struggling prescription, as a result of increase in cost of living many will be isolated and alone, suffering in silence. Older people are in need of a safe space to be able to speak about the impact of cost of living on their day-to-day life.
Older people have become a target to online fraud, we will deliver works shops on how to stay safe online, using trusted website. We will talk about managing in this very difficult and worrying time for many.
Please do not suffer in silence we are here to help, listen and act.
Our aim will be to improve access to services, improve quality of life for older BME member of the community, and support our ageing population to live happier whilst living longer.
